You did forget to mention the down side of crowdfunding. All of the knock off crooks are watching these 3 sites for new ideas, and if they see the idea is receiving support, they copy and knock it off in China. So, many Chinese factories watch kick starter to find the next best seller, and they will have your idea available quicker than you. Even, if you have a patent, you will spend hours each day chasing after them.
