On the 5E bandwagon thing: Maybe counting chickens before they hatch? Not that I have any faith in OneD&D as a quality product, but it's just gone into beta… it's in prototype stage & it's support is going to be limited JUST because of that. Hell, do they even have an OGL-like license for the new ruleset yet? People might not even be able to legally create 3rd party content for it…
It's also plausible a lot of these projects were in some level of development before starting the Kickstarter, whether they be converted home-brew campaign material or they delayed crowdfunding until they new they had a workable prototype product.
I'd say we have actual confirmation that people aren't migrating away come mid next year when the pattern still holds.

Side Note: The thing about the OGL is they can't actually revoke it… they can just stop publishing material licensed under it. The license language straight up gives rights in perpetuity.

On price of adventures: To be fair, that $130 5E module is only $130 for the box set version, which also includes a lot of other material, including ~$40 worth of dice. It's STILL overpriced (~$30 just for the digital)… but actually Black God's Kiss and Bullets & Bleedthroughs are similarly priced.

Speaking of Black God's Kiss – it's not a Mork Borg clone, it's real gimmick is the nostalgia angle from the CL Moore tie-in. Basically Appendix-N-slash-sword-&-sorcery hipster nostalgia, plus cool art that incidentally looks like typical Mork Borg stuff. (disclosure: I am that type of hipster, this is self incriminatory). Not incidentally, they include some of CLM's original fiction in the box set for a reason… it's out of print & hard to find.

People won't play because you normally aren't a furry in the Weird West, but hey. 5e will be obsolete like all the others in the past. Todays crowd will be on to the next best thing. I've done my last kickstarter for 5e, by the time I get it in 2 years it'll be dead and just a book on the shelf like 2, 3.5 and 4. Shifting to Savage Worlds.

The Black Gods kiss I'd back just the pdfs. Lol $130 for a module. I love weird west stuff as well but I'm not mad on 5e stuff, alas.
