“We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?” Steve Jobs
What’s funny is that as the capability of development got greater, the amount of BS increased. So the apps still take a few years but they do more nonsense now.
Lets mention that Jobs was given the Lisa computer as developed by XEROX LABS in Palo Alto California by the ignorant XEROX HQ in NY .Thats how Jobs started the Apple computer revolution that culminated in the development of the IPHONE the most useful device in history as it is like an extension of our brain.
Amazing talk. So many errors in the subtitles though 😢
Wow could they have gotten a more difficult person to understand to be the one who introduces Steve Jobs?
I really like his response at 51:17. I never really thought about it like that—taking a longer term view on people and not immediately wanting to fix problems, rather trying to help educate the people making mistakes.
The irony is the subtitles are incredibly poorly written, and having them slap bang in the middle of the screen, poorly timed with the speech is really distracting. I can’t believe how a channel such as this that purports to try to improve and teach English language could upload a video with subtitles this bad! Crazy.
❤
At 16:31 he mentions the importance of "having skin in the game" for the consultants, which they usually don't.
With each passing year it's getting harder to find a quality video/talk.
Fool forgot to predict RISE of OPEN SOURCE..Linux and Linux Kernel..hahaha we can only laugh at you Steve, you forgot about Linux , Android and everything that moves on Open Source today…there is always something that doesn't need everything to be proprietary as you may think it to be Steve..
I love how nobody at this elite event mentions visual basic and how it as a product pretty did everything NeXt offered but better and cheaper. Lol
say what you will about steve jobs, vanity was never one of his vices.
simulacra
At one point he said "we think we will have a competitor to Next, but we think that will be 3 to 4 years", they would have two, Apple and Microsoft.
P.S. I like Next, without Next there would be no Pixar, no Toy Story.
EDIT: But here is an interesting butterfly effect, as Steve Jobs became a share holder with Disney (as Disney bought Pixar), Jobs sold his stock (making him a Billionaire), invested that Billion into Apple (becoming Apple's biggest shareholder), then slowly worked his way back to the top of Apple, he saved Apple.
his ability to articulate complex ideas simply was amazing.
So much Whig history in these comments.
Just think about this one. The word 'app' was clearly a word that people used well before 2007. I personally remember it being in use. The phrase 'killer app' was in very common use. If it wasn't in use, the choice of the word 'app' by Mr Jobs would be an odd choice, people wouldn't know what he was talking about.
Jobs sees the future so clearly… it is simply stunning. His clarity is mind-boggling. Is there anybody alive today who can see the future (20 years out) from where we are today? I might ask Chat GPD lol 😂
No wonder Apple is so successful! Steve was a visionary. Great presentation!
Steve jobs lecture. Are great

mano… esses caras viajam demais…
