After copping some criticism from Bank of PNG Governor Loi Bakani and others in the banking and financial sectors regarding the crowd-funding initiative, PNG Think Tank Group CEO Samson Komati has explained the motive behind it.
Speaking to EMTV News today, Mr Komati said the project initiative is to provide better opportunities for local SMEs and individuals to invest in the country’s banking and financial services sector.
He says Papua New Guineans must take ownership of PNG’s banking sector, thus taking back PNG’s economy under the Marape Government’s aim of taking back PNG.

Samson, I appreciate the efforts put this far. Let us not being gullible but audicious and pragmatic for once and support this move. Critics may say it's just a pie in the sky but for once, lets believe in ourselves that we as PNGuineans can make an impact in the banking industry or in any thing we intend to do.
