I remember when I was 17 and clutching at straws came out, every second of that album is a punch of joy. Best rock album ever been made.

I'm so glad my fellow Scotsman has found his lane in life.

FISH o Marillion tem de voltar pra vc. Me desculpe mas os 2 precisam um do outro. Marillion é Fish e ponto final.

Clutching at straws was fucking amazing. A bit disappointed that he wasn't actually an alcoholic, and that a doctor never said to him "if you maintain this lifestyle you won't make 30". I call that lies. Very disappointed actually

Sorry I'm a selFISH fan of early Marillion i never got to see them. For all of us that don't feel the same about their later music I was always hoping for one last reunion. All these years later I don't think FISH would be encountering problems like he mentions here if they reunited. Would they be playing arenas nowadays with FISH I don't think so. In other words it's very disappointing that we will all go to our graves never seeing these guys get back as his reasons here are BS.

there must b some more sophisticated alternate universe where fish is a household name and phil collins is clutching at straws in some random pub

Its a shame they could not severe the record company contract around the time of MC, and crowdfunded, as they do now, perhaps that would have allowed them time to breath, and things may have been different then.

Maybe do not lead with "became too big" but rather "like the communication" …

apparently john arnison was on 20% of gross earnings. that's an Allan Klein kinda deal – doesn't matter how much you make, you're always behind….. (any record company advances are another thing entirely…..)

I have seen Fish in Islington 2015 and 2016. 2015 was just after the Paris attacks and Fish was greater than ever. my husband who was a music promoter was very impressed and he took me back the next year. My personnal favourite: Script for a jester's tear

Spoke to Fish when he was doing his solo tour in Worcester (1995), down to earth and very friendly.
