There's dozens of $20 models on aliexpress. You can't give a list of specs to one of those manufacturers and have them make you 1000 for resale?

so so so eager to get my hands on a monochromatic version. I'd buy that device even if I didn't care about the FOSS and privacy benefits! The Pebble successor I've been waiting for and so much more. Endless potential!
What software does it run? I see it's called "OSW-OS", and it's designed to run on ESP32 MCUs, but what is it, exactly? What features and APIs does it have? What's its design? Does it have a separate userspace, or does everything run in the kernel? What languages and tools can I use to develop apps for it? Can I install apps without building it directly into the firmware and re-flashing it?
I see it uses PlatformIO IDE, and that's pretty much all I could find about the software development process; so I guess everything needs to be built into the firmware, and probably everything runs in the ring 0.
Am I the only person who's never used his kit to make a watch? I've used these for Uncanny Eyes, Internet Clocks, and really anything that needs a compact, high-rez display and ESP32 chip. It's such a convenient package that puts stuff like the TTGO-Tdisplay to shame! I love the GC9A01 ISP display and having an ESP32 chip attached so nicely and compact is just wonderful. Nice! Think mono version of the watch is the first I'd consider daily driving just because of how nice and compact it is, great work!

I just got the V3.3 watch and have been delighted with it and what I have learned from it already! That monochrome version looks great! I hope to spend some time coding a custom watchface for myself this weekend!
