If Kickstarter, Indiegogo, etc., do NOTHING to promote your project, how is that better than simply creating a fundraiser video on YouTube with a link to a "Donate" page on your website?

lovin the vids as always, but just wanted to highlight that spike lee went on a magical tangent when asked about that unfair advantage on kickstarter. to be concise and blunt people are more likely to shell out funding for projects with bigger players involved but that in no way nulls the chance for a budding filmmaker. it doesn't at all knock a novice out the running ,it just makes the journey to getting to the finished project more ardous!
