after more time, it will probably be forming a bigger culture pertaining to this, and maybe some systems that make discovering authors/projects simpler and easier integration of the marketing and economics aspects in the social media aspect. thats the only way i see this becoming more streamlined

Nice to see you back on YT! Yeah this stuff is so frustrating. I can’t stand the business side and marketing of writing. I prefer the actual writing side so much more. It sucks so much how some famous celeb can write a crappy book and automatically get some publishing deal. It’s not about how good you are it’s about how famous you are.

I think I’m going to focus on becoming a journalist and if I build up enough following I’ll release my books someday. Maybe do podcasting. If anything id rather self publish my books on kindle so I’d keep a greater share of the profits. That way I can write for a living and fulfill my dream of releasing my books to the world.

Such a great topic, Carrow! I love the idea of crowdfunding, and I think I'd love to do a crowdfundedproject at some point, but for now, the workload of setting one up hasn't made the top 5 on my priorities list

I've seen some indies have luck with it but it's not something I think I would ever do, but great points as always!

Hey, you are still not on Odysee. You should synchronize your channel.

And yeah, I think crowfunding makes sense for many cases. Whenever you use a publisher, you are using a middle man. Anything that allows you to remove that middle man will help you connect directly with your market, which is your audience of readers, or consumers in general.

Self-publishing and crowdfunding was not a very viable strategy in the past, because your reach was limited; that has changed now with the Internet, which allows you to have supporters everywhere in the planet. Why do you need a middle man if you can do the work yourself, and earn more money?
